What's a metacrisis?

The metacrisis (sometimes called the polycrisis) is an interlocking set of crises including climate change and biodiversity loss, migration, terrorism, war, poverty, rapid economic change with advancing technology, loss of meaning or shared truth, and the increasing complexity of society. We can solve any single part of the crisis with technical fixes, but this often makes other parts of the metacrisis worse. Really, the metacrisis is a crisis of human power.

How do we solve it?

We must change how human power works.
We must go from toxic power, where we apply short term solutions in a single silo, burning out the very people and resources we need or causing greater crises in other areas, to healthy power, where every solution increases the power and wellbeing of the people, organisations, communities, and ecosystems involved.
There are many examples of healthy power in practice.

We will be traveling around India from October 12 2024 to October 20 2024.
We will visit communities in three Indian states, using several different versions of the Neighbourhood Parliaments model. The online learning community will open in February, and will be available to you for as long as our organisation can sustain it (hopefully, years to come).The price is €2443 per person. This includes all food, lodging, in-country travel, and access to learning support before and after the trip.Your fees will also pay for donations to the communities we visit, and funding for applying these models in Wales, Ireland, Scotland, and England.If you express your interest here, you will be added to a waiting list in order of registration, and given a chance to commit to the programme as soon as the learning community is open.We will keep you informed about this programme, and about related events, resources, and opportunities.
